Bargain Biker Bits is a small UK seller. We keep as little about you as we can.
Payments are taken by Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe Ltd, Ireland). Your card details never reach us. Stripe sends us your name, email and delivery address so we can post the item, and keeps payment records under its own privacy policy. If you choose to pay with Klarna, Klarna (Klarna Bank AB, Sweden) handles that payment and the details you give it under its own privacy notice. We keep a record of each completed sale (the Stripe session reference and the item) so an order is never processed twice.
When you go to checkout, the item is held for you for 30 minutes so nobody else can buy it. To stop one person tying up the whole shop, we limit each visitor to three open holds. For that limit we store a salted hash of your internet address, never the address itself; it cannot be turned back into your address and is deleted with the hold. If you pay by a method that settles later, such as Klarna, we also keep the email address you gave at checkout with that hold for up to 14 days so we can tell you if the payment fails.
If an item is reserved and you leave your email, we store the address, the item, the time and the exact wording you agreed to, so we can send you one email if the item becomes available again. Lawful basis: your consent. The address is deleted when the item sells, or after 90 days, whichever is first. Every alert has a link to stop alerts for that item immediately.
Only if you ask for it: by ticking the newsletter box on one of our forms (it is never ticked for you), or by pressing "Yes, sign me up" after buying, which uses the email from your order. You are added to the list straight away. Your address, when you signed up and where are held on our newsletter list, which is stored and sent by Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France) under its privacy policy. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link. We keep the address until you unsubscribe.
Your message and email are used only to reply to you. The message is delivered to our inbox through Brevo, which keeps a short-term sending log.
If you offer us your gear, your contact details, the item details and your photos are emailed to our inbox through Brevo and used only to reply to you about it. Nothing is kept on the website.
When you make an offer we keep your name, email, offer and message in our database so we can answer it and, if we accept, send you a private link to pay. We email you about that offer only (plus the newsletter if you tick its box). Ask us and we will delete it.
Stripe and Klarna for payments, Brevo for email, and Vercel (USA) and Neon (USA) for hosting and our database. Each works under its own privacy policy and UK GDPR safeguards for data held outside the UK.
You can ask what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing bargainbikerbits@gmail.com. We reply within a month. You can also complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
